The Power Delivery Designer supports engineering and field service teams by preparing high quality technical drawings, layouts and design documents for power delivery projects including substations, transmission, distribution and renewable energy systems. This role ensures that all designs comply with technical standards, safety regulations and client specifications while maintaining accuracy and consistency throughout all project phases.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare comprehensive CAD drawings, schematics and layouts for substation, transmission, and distribution projects
- Convert complex engineering markups, redlines and conceptual sketches into detailed, construction-ready design packages
- Support the preparation of bills of materials (BOM), basic design calculations, and essential project documentation
- Provide high quality drafting support for proposals and final record documentation
- Ensure all designs strictly comply with client standards, project requirements, and industry codes (including NESC, NEC, IEEE, and ANSI)
- Assist with internal quality control checks to guarantee the absolute accuracy, precision and constructability of all drawings
- Maintain highly organized drawing files, meticulous revision records, and comprehensive design libraries in alignment with established document control standards
- Collaborate closely with engineers and project managers to review design progress, incorporate feedback, and optimize workflows
- Coordinate with internal teams and external contractors or vendors to efficiently resolve design discrepancies and issues
Requirements
- Associate degree in Drafting/Design, Engineering Technology, or a related technical field is preferred; equivalent hands on experience will be fully considered
- 5+ years of dedicated design or CAD drafting experience, with a strong focus on power/utility, substation, or heavy industrial projects
- High proficiency with AutoCAD or MicroStation is required; experience with Revit or 3D modeling platforms is a significant plus
- Deep familiarity with electrical one lines, wiring schematics and civil/structural layouts
- Strong working knowledge of utility standards, NEC, NESC and relevant structural/electrical codes
- Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy and organizational skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight, competing deadlines
